Day of Caring

Every year, Great Rivers United Way hosts an event called Day of Caring. Day of Caring, our version of United Way Worldwide’s national “Day of Action,” was started for local Pacesetter Companies, corporate partners that “set the pace” for the community-wide campaign that kicks off in the fall, in 1995.

Day of Caring is currently open to any and all corporate partners, and consists of a meal and volunteering at Great Rivers United Way or one of its partner agencies, either in the morning or the afternoon. Great Rivers United Way staff, as well as the year’s Campaign Co-Chairs, address the crowd, sharing news about the upcoming campaign and thanking volunteers for their support.

Volunteer activities range from landscaping to cleaning to client interaction. Registration for the event is done via Great Rivers United Way’s volunteer website, Ugetconnected, which is a great source for giving back all year long.

Registration for Day of Caring is done on a company-by-company basis. For more information, contact your workplace campaign coordinator or Great Rivers United Way Campaign Coordinator Tim Medinger at tmedinger@gruw.org or (608) 796-1400, ext. 112.
